Kuo Po gained national recognition through a popular television talent show, Talentime, and embarked on a singing career right after graduation from the National University of Singapore in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. 

She has represented Singapore Tourism Board to perform in Tokyo, Osaka, Cairo, New Delhi, Shanghai and Perth, while her own private engagements have taken her to Perth, Sydney, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket and Cairns. While performing, Kuo Po also managed a number of wine bars and performance venues. With the experience gained from front-linging shows and managing entertainment venues, Kuo Po went on to manage performers, produce shows, concerts and record albums. She is also the only female singer-saxophonist in South-East Asia.

 In 2004, she started working with children, creating Asia's first group of children 8-14 years old singing and dancing to jazz, JazzKidsTM. She discovered an aptitude for working with children and began tgo focus on developing young vocal talent. She prepares them for live ensemble performances, developing not only their vocal range and repertoire, but also stage presence and improvisational skills. She founded the performing arts school, Kids Performing and developed two more performing groups of children, BroadwayKidsTM and UrbanKidsTM.

Kuo Po working with the Budding Artists Fund (BAF), which gives talented children from low-income families and children's homes exposure to the arts by providing creative direction for the project and training. Kuo Po has adopted some kids from the BAF ad hoc programme to provide thgem with consistent weekly training. Since 2006, Kuo Po created Kids On Stage (KOS) Programme, providing scolarships to talented and artistically passionate children committed to the art of performance who are from diverse socio-economic background to undergo training at Kids Performing.

Kuo Po has brought experienced music teachers and choreographers on to her teaching staff while she overseas the curriculum expansion and continues to teach and produce performances. She handles all business arrangements, cultivated corporate clients and plans performing events for private and charity organisations.
